1/26/2012 2:59:03 AM I don't know if it's the floppy disks that hate me or the disk players in my stentura, but it always seem like they mess up on me. My first Stentura, the disk player broke at a job. That was only like the 4th or 5th job I ever took. This next Stentura that I bought a couple of months ago, I put the disks in and the machine says something about it can't read the disk or use another disk, but I used several of them What am I doing wrong? |

![]() | You could be running into bad luck regarding the disks. When I used floppies, I encountered this problem. Try a completely new package of diskettes and see what happens. |

Thanks. If I don't throw my steno machine threw the window before I get to Office Max, I'll try that. lol. - AmandaCat 1/26/2012 11:20:09 AM | FlagTry a different brand than you have. I know when I had a Stentura, there was one brand that was always giving me trouble. I can't remember which one it was. Also, try formatting it in your machine. - fstfngrs 1/27/2012 12:32:39 PM | Flag |

Hi Amanda, I use a Stentura, too. Try putting the disk in the Stentura and then formatting it through the Stentura. After you put the disk into the machine, there should be the word "disk" on the bottom, hit that button, then it will ask if you want to format the disk, just hit yes. I think I hit "smart format" or something like that, I forget. That might help with your disk problems. Do not do it to a disk that has jobs on it that you haven't translated yet, you will lose those jobs. Make sure you erase your RAM now and then, too. I usually will erase it when it gets to about 30 percent left. I'm not sure what Stentura you're on, but I'm on the Stentura 8000. Good luck! |
