took a couple of the practice tests available and then just studied the stuff I missed...passed first time. I understand there`s a lot of computer-type questions now that didn`t really apply when I was taking it...yes, I`m that old ;)

I had been a working reporter for a year before I took it. Thank goodness, because there were quite a number of procedural questions I never would have known the answer to, even after studying. I studied the book and took the practice tests for about a month or so.

I studied my brains lose!!! I passed the first time, but I left feeling like I failed...I actually got a pretty good grade too :) I bought a study book and used a lot of flashcards for legal and medical terms, and did the practice tests...

Studied tons because I took it a 2nd time about 10 years after being a reporter, so I had to brush up on all that English stuff, vocab, etc. I think it`s a hard test.

I didn`t study at all. I took it when I was still in school and passed it (not by much, but I passed). I didn`t pass the skills and let that lapse and years later took it again, didn`t study and passed again (and then passed the skills). It`s a lot of common sense, I think. And some stuff you`re just not going to know, (like court stuff if you`re a deposition reporter, etc.), but it`s multiple choice and a lot is process of elimination type of things.

I took it and passed it the summer after graduating, so things were fresh in my mind. That was in 1993.

Took it two years ago and passed the first time with a 92 as everything was still fresh. I went heavy on the vocab drills and was so glad I did.
