dollar figures translating incorrectly

When I write a dollar amount such as $4,953 on my writer during realtime, my Case Catalyst translates it as $4,000,953. I have tried playing around with the translation settings, but haven't hit upon the right one. Any suggestions?

you can define a steno stroke for "comma delete space" to use while you're writing numbers - maybe *RBGS.   you can also use "delete space period delete space" for when you have decimals.   I use p*nt (for 1 point 1 or 1.1) or TK*T for "dot" meaning Version 1.1.

Or write THOU-RBGS to mean "delete space comma delete space."  and then use THOU*RBGS for "comma 000"  for when they say 4,000.  You can reverse these if that makes more sense to you.  You can use H*UN for "delete space 00" in hundred too.  same concept for million:  m*eul = ,000,000.   or even m*l.
