9/1/2011 3:25:54 PM Hi there, Can anybody shed some light on preferably a top-loading wheeled bag to hold my Diamante, laptop, laptop tray, 2 tripods, and all the cords, stickers we need? I want to buy a real luggage brand like Samsonite for example. I dont want to buy one of the cheap bags from Stenograph. Im open to all suggestions as I want a sturdy rolling bag that will last and protect my equipment at the same time. Thanks!! |

![]() | I invested in a Tutto. You can find them at www.tutto.com. They make all kinds of bags, but they also make bags just for court reporters. Click on the tab that says steno case. I really love it. It's super durable. You can even sit on it, if necessary, or use it as a table (which I have had to do). It pulls easily and goes up and down stairs easily. My one wish would be for a telescoping handle, but the handle does lay flat. Overall, I've really liked it. I'd give it an A rating :) |

It's hard to find top-loading luggage, unless it's a tote bag, which isn't big enough for all our stuff. I'm on about my fifth rolling bag, because I'm a city reporter and put a lot of miles and lots of miles on those wheels every year. I like to get my exercise on my walk to and from the job. My bags last about two years just because I wear out the wheels, and it costs almost as much as a new bag to have them replaced. Three of those were from Stenograph, which are not cheap bags. They are quality -- one was made by Samsonite, one by Pathfinder and one by Adamo??(which are now out of business). I would recommend, if you haven't ever had a rolling bag yet, to buy one specifically made for court reporters with all the foam inserts to protect your machine. The second time around when you're ready for your next writer, get a similar size name-brand luggage that you can just transfer the inserts into. Not all luggage has all the pockets and dividers that we need for all our stuff. Do not buy the ones with four wheels unless you don't "walk and roll" too much, because you need the sturdy rollerblade-type wheels for durability. Hope that helps!! |

Hello ...! This subject came up recently on Facebook ... but first, check here: http://www.cheapandsleazy.net/tutto.html Coming out of that discussion was a bit of an update. Seems that the folks at Tutto have come out with a few bigger bags than the one Chuck Motter wrote about in the above-linked review. You can read about those here: http://realtimeready.com/Tutto.html Hope that helps ...! --gdw |
