I am currently an online court reporting student @ Huntington Jr. College and was hoping to get some feedback on the school's online program.

I am currently in my first quarter at Huntington and start Theory in a couple of weeks. Any other advice current students or court reporters can give me would be much appreciated. I am sooo nervous but sooo excited!!

Jaime is right. You need to make friends with that steno machine and have it out and ready to write on at a moment's notice. Write when you are watching television. Court TV has actual trials, and that will be a wonderful source once you are in the higher speed levels. Don't think about that now. Just practice your theory. The more you practice, the faster you will get through it.

Good luck to you! I live in Huntington and work as a court reporter, but did not attend the Junior College. Good luck to you, and message me if I can help you in any way! Practice, practice!

Learn your theory and learn it well. And practice, practice, practice! I will also be glad to mentor you as well. I am currently living in New York, but did all my schooling in California! Don`t be nervous ever and try to get a handle on it as soon as possible.

I agree with Jaime and Shannon ...practice, practice... and learn your software as early as possible. The school I went to here on Long Island taught you about 1% of what you need to know about your software.
