How do you spell retched up?

Witness said, "I retched up."  Meaning I reached up.  How would you spell it??

Did the witness mispronounce other words or just that one?  If it's an issue of an accent, I would probably spell it as "reached."  If it was clearly misspoken as "retched," that's what I would write (phonetic) after it.

Actually, I would write exactly what I hear and then write (sic) after.  I am not there to determine what anyone says, meant to say, or anything else.  I am there to write what I hear exactly as I hear it and that's it.
