![]() | Ask five different court reporters and you'll get five different answers. Yes, we did; all of us did because -- I think her name was Rosa -- screamed that the car was on fire. |

My guess would be:
or A Yes, we did. All of us did because - I think her name was Rosa - screamed that the car was on fire. |

Thank you, Jam12. I think either one looks good. I like the fact you put in a period after did. I was leaning toward putting a comma, but then it looked like comma overload :) - sunlover31 4/5/2011 10:29:12 PM | Flag |

I'm just glad they all got out of the car!! -- LOL :) I like debbytime's. I just like the use of semicolons. They look so professional. And I always dash when the inside thought doesn't have anything to do with the rest of the sentence. Makes it more readable. |

A. Yes, we did. All of us did because I think her name was Rosa screamed the car was on fire. OR A. Yes, we did. All of us did because -- I think her name was Rosa screamed the car was on fire. The dashes separate a noun from the verb. Rosa is screaming. The way you have it punctuated, you're saying we can remove the "I think her name was Rosa." It would then read: "All of us did because screamed the car was on fire," which would make no sense. Granted the "I think her name was" is not proper grammar, but I wouldn't separate the person who's performing the action from the action. |
