11/3/2010 1:56:10 AM I have a Stentura 400 SRT. I went on vacation for a few days. I took my machine without the plug, but I ended up never using it. Now that I am back, I plugged it up and the green light is flashing constantly. I cleared the memory, but it is still flashing. Any idea why this is happening? I also unplugged it, removed the battery, put it back, and plugged it back up to no avail.

Shanna Fellow 400 SRT user here. How long have you left your machine to charge? I believe if the Green Light is flashing that means your battery life is low. Make sure that your machine is turned on when charging, as well. |

Hi, Shanna!I have the same Stentura model and on my user's guide on pg. 20 it says: Low battery warning-the light will flash very rapidly when the battery pack requires charging. At least it's an easy fix. - NancyDeLeon 11/3/2010 5:35:40 PM | Flag |

Oh, man. Okay. I never use my battery at all. It's always plugged in. My machine wasn't on at all while I was away for a few days. This is so odd. It's definitely the battery. I just removed the battery and turned the machine on. The green light is solid now. How much is a new battery? Does anyone know offhand? Thanks for all your help, everyone! Shanna |

Hi, Shanna. You can get refurbished batteries from the resellers for about $50; a new one will run you about $85. A refurbished battery is a battery pack that has been disassembled, the old batteries removed, and replaced with new ones. Also, leaving your writer plugged in at all times will shorten the life of your battery considerably, so charge it Sunday night for about 15 hours (or whatever your manual says) and use it without it being plugged in during the day -- or until your green light starts flashing like crazy again. Hope that helps! - gdwarner 11/7/2010 2:57:22 AM | FlagThanks, Glen! So when I get my new-to-me battery, you're saying I should mainly use my battery instead of using my machine plugged up all the time? Or can I set the battery aside, and just use the power cord for my daily use?Thx,Shanna - Shanna Gray 11/7/2010 6:38:42 AM | FlagHi, Shanna. Either way will work, but I would probably avoid running it without the battery. It won't hurt it, but if you have to move it and forget that it's plugged in ... well, you *might* not lose what you've written to memory, but I would highly recommend just running it with that new-to-you battery ... just in case. - gdwarner 11/7/2010 9:16:25 AM | Flag |

| Marcella Cordova Zigarevich I think if you can put the writer in manual mode and type for a minute and then put it back into electric mode by moving the red arm back it might trick whatever is telling the light to flash. Is your battery dead/not taking a charge? Wednesday, November 03, 2010 | ||
| Lynn Tumino Goff My 400 SRT manual says that is a low battery warning. Maybe you need a new battery or your connection while you are charging isn`t good? Wednesday, November 03, 2010 | ||
| Amy Sanchez You may need an entirely new battery. Once the battery won`t hold a charge, it`s time for a new one. Wednesday, November 03, 2010 | ||
| Shanna Gray Thanks, everyone. I`m going to remove the battery for a while. I need a tune up anyway. They can take a look at it then. Thanks again.! Thursday, November 04, 2010 | ||
