Hi. I am a student and I am about to graduate.  I am looking for a professional machine that is in great condition.  I have heard that a lot of people having the Stentura 8000lx and was wondering if anyone was selling their machine?  I am looking at a price about $500 in cash.  It doesn't have to be the Stentura 8000lx just any kind of professional machine.  Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on getting ready to graduate.  I hope you find some luck here, as I know how financially difficult it can be as a student, being a full time student myself.  I'm assuming you understand though that most professional machines can range from about $2,000-$5,000.

Hello ...

As Mikey may have mentioned, new writers start at around $4,000.  Refurbished ones start at around $3,000.  Finding a writer for $500 might be difficult ...!

Have you thought about leasing?  I think StenoWorks has some sort of lease/rent-to-own program going on.  I haven't used this and only noticed something about it on their website when I was looking for something else the other day.

As with any such program, PLEASE ENSURE  that you take a good, hard look at the fine print; basically, you want to avoid an un-GHODLY high interest rate, or any mention of collateral such as souls, first born, or any mention of "burning in eternal hell fire" (well, okay, so I was kidding about some of that; just avoid the too-high interest rate problem, and you should be fine).

Good luck to you .....

I know of a Diamante, used only a few times, for $4200.

$500 won't get you too much...You can use your student version

and just bring your laptop, until you can afford one?  I have a Gemini Revolution and they have lease plans.  I just put it on my credit card as my interest is lower there.

Stenograph will finance, but as the other said, be careful, because when you break down their financing, the interest rate is almost 19%.    -    Robin 11/7/2010 9:39:03 PM | Flag
