Also, you may want to think about whether or not you're willing to travel for court reporting jobs as this will create additional opportunities for you. And don't forget to advertise your services - even online - and be an active member of any court reporter organizations in your area as this will help to enhance your reputation, especially as you're just getting started working on your own.
