While many jurisdictions do seem to have enough court reporters, the large number of freelancers and staff reporters at the courts and attorney office points to the fact that there is room for additional people who are thinking about entering the field. Some studies point to the fact that there will be an increase in the number of positions open for court reporters in the coming years as the courts expand and services are used in additional ways. |

In addition to the fact that the courts are expanding and there is frequently room for more reporters who are interested in the field, the reality is that there are court reporters who are moving on from the field. Training to become a court reporter, after all, prepares you for more than just a job in the courts - it's a great way to get started and to build a career. |
