9/2/2010 4:16:28 PM I'm still having troubles with this word. I know the noun/verb scenario, but is there an easier way to remember the difference? I have struggled with this word for years. Thanks in advance! |

The rule that has stuck with me since I was wee high is: effect = result (note "e" in "effect" and "result") Although the above post is probably a more eloquent explanation. |

Effect is a noun most of the time or when used as a verb, means to bring about, such as "effect change"
Affect = alter |
