8/31/2010 9:11:46 AM I'm jut wondering if anyone out there has the SearchMaster program and if so do you use it and like it? I bought it several years ago. Never able to really get it working. I even went through the tutorial. Am I doing something wrong?? Any ideas? I love the idea of it, would love to get it working, but so far -- nothing. |

I'm a total Google girl also, but there are things that SearchMaster is awesome for. One thing I love is that I have incorporated all of my jobs in ASCII form into the program. Now if a job I worked on three years ago comes back or ten years ago, I can plug in the case number and know all of the jobs I've ever taken in the case so I can look up spellings and things in the old transcripts.

had it for years, renewed probably four or five times. now I can find everything I need with a simple internet search, so i've not renewed (nor used) it in the past three years. |

| Kristin Vickery Have it. Love it. Always use it. If you have any problems, email searchmaster.jim@gmail.com. He`ll walk you through everything. They have spectacular customer service. Jim`s great. Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Laura Klingenberg Fowler I`m one of the original reporters that has had it since its creation. I don`t use it to its fullest extent, but I do use it enough to love it. If you have any trouble, call Jim. He is always willing to help and give guidance. There are special tutorials on it too that are easy to understand. My problem is there`s so much to this program, that it`s hard to remember it all. Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||

| Judy Rakocinski I`ve also had it since its creation. It was called KFiles back then. It`s an awesome program. I use it all the time. If you need help, Jim Barker is very responsive. You can contact him directly or just head to the Court Reporters Forum link (it`s at the bottom of the SM screen) and check out the entire section there devoted to the program. | Sheri Allen Oh, my goodness! I have never heard of this but just looked it up on the internet! Sounds great! Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Jeanne Starr I`ve had it for a few years and love it! Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Cheryl Guthrie Honestly, google is almost as good. Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Kary Wingo It`s nice because you don`t have to even be close on the spelling to find terms, especially medical, just put in the letters you do know. Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Valerie Hance One of the best things you can do is store your ASCIIs to search. I`m always partially remembering something that came up before in a depo and I can just go search quickly and the answer pops right up. Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Carla Ambriz It`s an awesome program!! I don`t use it to its full extent, but even if you just use it for clarifications of spellings of terminology (medical, legal, Latin, drugs, chemistry, construction, etc.), it`s great. Street names, doctors` names....goodness, I could go on and on. Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Donna O`Bryant Love it!!! Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Karen Reuter-Kahle I use it all the time and LOVE it. I don`t use it to its fullest extent, but if I need to find something, it`s right there. Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Leeann McGee I agree with Cheryl. I ALWAYS use google and have ALWAYS found the information I was searching for without having to remember how to use a program. The Internet is full of up-to-date information. Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Lory Minio I have it, but don`t use it. When I did use it, it seemed like I was always doing two searches, one in SearchMaster to come up with the spelling, and then a dictionary search to see if the word I came up with was actually the word I was looking for, through the definition. Of course, there is the possibility that I wasn`t using it right! LOL Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Mercy Borroto Dominguez I get pretty good results with Google. Have even found cases that were cited at a job Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Vicki Martin Google`s the way I go. I have found medical terms on there that I had no idea how to spell! But Google has that great predictive feature so it comes up with suggestions for you. And I have also found cases cited at a job on Google Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Sherry McCaskey Google for me. My BFF has SearchMaster but she ends up using Google. Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Carla Ambriz That`s true, Lory, that they don`t have definitions in SM. It would be good for them to implement that so we don`t have to do two searches! Wednesday, September 01, 2010 | ||
| Susan Fox Me too. Never caught on to it. I`m a Google girl. Thursday, September 02, 2010 | ||
