Two weeks of outside obligations kept me from practicing enough. What works the best for getting back up to speed and accuracy? Lots of slow dictation? High-speeds? Simple drills? Hard vocab? I'm close to passing 100 (more accurately, I was two weeks ago!) |

I had an eight-year break in my schooling. When I left school the first time I was in 225. When I came back to school, they didn't quite know where to put me, so they put me in 120s. In two months' time I went from 120 to 200s. It goes to show that it's kind of like riding a bike. Once you know how to do it, you never forget it. However, you do get a little rusty. I'd say practice it all -- slow, fast, simple drills, hard vocab. My preference is slow with accuracy, mixed with some fast pushes but with more emphasis on the accuracy. I believe that pays off in the long run. Look for those hesitation problems. By the way, I went on to pass the CSR after that 8-year break. It CAN be done :) It's such a great career and well worth the hard work. |
