8/19/2010 7:32:40 PM A client has requested that I report a trial in Van Nuys Superior Court in a department where apparently there are no official reporters. Are there specific transcript format requirements for these trials? I have a format that I use for arbitrations, but I'm not sure if this is allowable for a Superior Court trial transcript. |

stick with the CRB standards since you are not an "official" (meaning Court court reporter) you won't have any problems with your transcript not "matching" court standards. in Org Cty Superior Court there are 26 lines per page. that's about the only critical difference btwn court & depo transcripts. of course formats vary but they are all within the CRB standards |

| Laura Klingenberg Fowler I believe you just use the CA minimum trypt format these days especially since you`re doing it as a freelancer. I only had to change my format years ago when I was being hired thru the courts as a pro tem reporter. You do need to charge court rates, so you should contact the court and see what the rates are in that area. Friday, August 20, 2010 | ||
