I have recently purchased a writer from The Neutrino Group, the makers of the Gemini writers. I have their signature machine the Revolution Grand. Fantastic machine, but you do have to make adjustments to fit your own comfort and writing style. It comes with a UMPC, or it's own small computer with the most recent version of Windows. I personally use CaseCatalyst and had to upgrate to v11 to use the PDF printer so that I can print my notes for school. It is extremely lightweight. The service is great. The price was great, especially that I got a student discount. I will post a picture of mine on my page so you can see it shortly. The reason I bought this machine was because after 20 years of being a secrtary and now a court reporting student, my neck, back, wrists, and hands have taken a beating and my orthopedic surgeon urged that I go out and buy something ergonomic to save me from this discomfort and the expense of weekly massages! During the adjustments that were being made to my machine I went back to my old writer, and I also said hello to my old aches and pains! So this was definintely a worthy purchase for me. |

I hope everyone has been following the thread over on Depoman ...! If you haven't, you missed the unveiling of the makers of the I.T. Writer, who has given me a chance to gather 25 questions for the company to answer. You can see those questions here: http://www.cheapandsleazy.net/it_q&a.html Thus far, I have 20 questions ready to go! Chime in if you want one asked! |

| Monyeen Black are you talking about this machine? http://www.geminiwriter.com/machines Sunday, July 25, 2010 | ||
| Carla Miller If you`re talking about the Gemini, I think that was the predecessor to the LightSpeed. I had the LightSpeed but sent it back. HUGE learning curve. Loved the concept, but my untran rate is usually @ .8-ish. I couldn`t get it under 4 with that machine. For over a month. Now on Diamante, which has its issues I might add, but at least a normal untran rate Sunday, July 25, 2010 | ||
| Nancy Ceglarek so what are the issues anyone`s having with the DIAMANTE? I`m just starting to use mine so..... Sunday, July 25, 2010 | ||
| Kathy Smith Cathell The biggest issue I have with the Diamante is not being able to individually adjust the sensitivity of each key. It has really affected my untran rate. Stenograph says the machine will learn my writing. But when you drag the Sunday, July 25, 2010 | ||

| Kristin Vickery Carla, this new writer I was reading about has a software program that adjusts the keys to your writing style, the writer adjusts to compensate. It is a traditional style writer with more adjustibility without having to pull out the wrenches and adjust. It was pretty small too. They have photos of it compared to an 8000 and a Passport and a I think there`s a Diamante comparison as well. I just cannot figure out whose writer it is! Everyone is trying to figure out if it will be unveiled at Na Sunday, July 25, 2010 | ||
| Paula Pollack I had read that the Diamante has this wheel that was supposed to easily help set your key depths. It looked good but what`s the problem with the wheel? Sunday, July 25, 2010 | ||
| Karen Williams Brideau I`ve been writing on the Diamante for 4 months and other than a slight untranslate problem, I love it. It is so easy to write on and smooth, I spend many hours in court without a break, and not as exhausted at the end of the day. Sunday, July 25, 2010 | ||
| Cheryl MacHauer How much do these new gadgets cost these days? Sunday, July 25, 2010 | ||

| Jason Pardikes Carla FYI the Gemini is not the predecessor to the Gemini. The Gemini was the first ergonomic machine. We now make the Revolution Grand which is the newest or our fully ergonomic machines. The Rev Grand is an articulated design so it feels like a traditional machine but it is split so that you can protect your hands, wrists, and back. www.revolutiongrand.com Tuesday, July 27, 2010 | ||
