This is the first question of many. Why create a website like readback.org? What is the purpose and goal of this site?

Ok, I don't recommend doing this... but I will answer my own question.  I hope to create a community of people who are interested in all things court reporting.  From students to working professionals in both court and in the freelance world, all are welcome to post here and to share information and, perhaps, make some connections.  I hope you enjoy it.
I enjoy reading the questions & answers. Even tho I am not a court reporter, I do work in the industry and am interested in all aspects.    -    nancy 4/23/2010 1:38:14 PM | Flag
Court Reporters, especially free-lance Reporters, often work in a somewhat solitary manner and I think this is a great idea of being able to seek advice almost anonymously and benefit from the vast experience of a broad range of others in the field.    -    danstout 6/14/2010 6:36:25 PM | Flag

Because it's interesting and informative. And you might find questions you would like to have the answer to, but just haven't asked yet.

I want to thank you, Todd, for taking the time to set up this site.  I have often wished for something like this.  Questions have come up from time to time and I didn't know the right person to ask, so I have just blindly pressed on.  Now I have a place to go.  It's great.  I'm really enjoying it.  Thank you, again.

Hey, you are so welcome. Your posts have been great and an excellent contribution to the community here. Glad to 'meet' you here on the site!!    -    Todd Olivas 6/15/2010 1:50:35 PM | Flag
